FS/FT: A treehugger's wet dream. 1974 VW Westfalia camper bus. Hippy mecca right here. This thing is littered with Grateful dead stickers, acid bears, happy campers etc. This would make a great project and I imagine it wouldn't take too much to get it up and going. If you wanted to you could load up all of your little hipster buddies and head to protests, or you could transport illegals. I don't care what you do with it, just hand me some money(or guns). I bought this bus about a year ago. My original intent was to get it running and just drive the hell out of it. Well, as usual, I got lazy once the newness of the purchase wore off. Now when I walk through the garage I think to myself, "Hans Peter could really be something someday, if I just...", then I think to myself, "Nah, I'd rather have another beer instead". The most I did was clean the bus up, then to offset the hippie stickers I put a "Repeal Obamacare" decal and a "Party like it's 1776" decal on the back window. Now the time has come and I may have to store a friend's car for him while he is stationed in Germany. So take full advantage while you can and come snatch this piece of history from me! Bus has a bunk up top when the tent is popped. The backseat also folds into a bed. The stove and sink are long gone so don't ask about them. Table folds up to eat yourself a sandwich, pour a drink, do some lines, whatever floats your boat, just don't tell me if it's illegal. There is no telling what has been done in the bunk and backseat, therefore I have kept my three year old daughter far away from them. That being said, I don't see any stains. Seats are in great shape considering...If you decide you want to go on a treasure hunt and tear the bus apart, I am sure you could find some micro dots, old joints, who knows what else.

Ok lets get to the good stuff:

-No title, not needed when it's a 1974 model. I will provide a bill of sale and that's all you need.
-Bus does not run. I haven't tinkered with it but it hasn't ran in many years.(engine is there and intact however)
-No ignition key. I have two door keys but apparently the ignition key has an extra notch in it. For transport purposes you can unbolt the column lock to be able to turn the wheels to load it.
-Back hatch is stuck shut(not the engine compartment, the hatch to access the rear seat etc)
-Popup tent is there but is very dry rotted and torn in a couple spots.
-No sink or stove so don't ask.
-You will be responsible for loading and transporting the bus. There is a slight incline in my driveway so bring a winch or some chains buddy.

If you are offended with this ad, you are what's wrong with this country. Grow a pair.

TRADES: I would be interested in guns(MERICA!!!) I prefer AK pattern rifles, I would take a unicorn AK depending on value, or multiples if they are worth less. I would possibly be interested in other stuff, as long as it's interesting. No I don't want pawpaw's old 12 gauge and your first 10/22. I want tactical type stuff that is worth equal to what I am asking. That being said, cash is just as good.

I don't know this Atlanta Craig's List seller, but I do know Up North U.S. gun basics. AK's are made in Russia; invented by a genius who got no royalties but did live to retire in a very nice lodge on a remote lake.

AK "pattern rifles" and "unicorn AK," multiples or not, are the weapon of choice for terrorists around the world. They helped North Vietnam win that war because of superior maintenance and repair capabilities. M-16's are more accurate at a distance, but in jungles, as in urban warfare such as Iraq, only a few sharp-shooters care about distance, and anyway they don't either use AK-47's or M-16's, or anything else standard issue.

As someone who cares about you, I advise that you do not meet this person at a big box parking lot, police station, McDonald's, Target, or at all. Satisfaction of your curiosity bone doesn't compare to the risks from dealing with someone like this on any level.

With all due respect to southland deadheads and with Neil Young's apology in Waging Heavy Peace for any Southern Man's hurt feelings, this Craig's List post is just one more reason for local trusted guides when venturing Deep South. Just sayin...

So your guy is apparently not in search of US weaponry, but that's all that's made in Merica. Maybe reply out of the kindess of your heart from a fake gmail account and share this link with him/her/them:

United States Military Weapons of War

"There is no argument that the United States Military is most powerful military in the ... The rifle is lightweight, simple to operate, and puts out a lot of lead."

Your ignorance regarding both weaponry and the South is astonishing. Clearly you have little or no experience with either other than what you have read on the Internet.

The AK is superior to the M-16 in that is was designed so that women and children could operate it and depend on it when they failed to perform any maintenance whatsoever on it (And they do with great success). An M-16 does not perform well even with maintenance. This is why when 'in country' so many soldiers used AKs they picked up along the way. They are made in many eastern block countries and China. They are also branded and assembled in the United States (Century Arms) and can be made by anyone with a metal lathe and break in their basement. And they are.

As for Southerners I will not dispel you of your Deliverance mindset in order to keep you away from here. In fact, the hippies referenced in the ad were no doubt disposed of in some bear camp deep in the North Georgia woods, so don't anybody venture down there OK.

This ad is a marvelous ad and a fine example of a proud American expressing his First and Second Amendment rights. If that offends you, you should move to the Crimea. That way you might learn to appreciate the American sense of humor a little better after living in a country where smiling and laughing are considered a retarded weakness.

That's the best craigslist ad I've ever read (not that I've read that many) & I'd be happy to meet this guy & check out his van while drinking tallboy PBRs & talking guns...

Reading list best sellers Viet Nam fiction, courtesy Barnes & Nobles is attached.

I would love to talk history books, factual accounts as well with you over a cold one. I like fiction based on fact because then you also get the feelings and insights...But I dig "objective" history, too . so let's do it!

Good grief, you want "Deliverance" I could give you a guided tour in the backwoods and swamps of northern Minnesota.

I love the South and many road trips, camping and friends back me up. Just sayin, never hurts to be careful wherever the road takes you.

As to weaponry, I just rely on my uncle Bob Carlson, West Point class of 1964 and books, I did "Matterhorn" this 4th of July weekend.

Did you serve?
